Ashghal Implements Individual Development Plans (IDP) For Qatari Employees
Doha, May 05 (QNA) - The Public Works Authority Ashghal has unveiled a new Individual Development Plan (IDP) for its Qatari employees with the aim of improving their performance and career potential.
At least 81 employees took part in phase I of the Individual Development Plan (IDP), which is a new customized and achievable plan that will constantly review and assess the employees learning and career objectives in order to identify and drive his or her personal development in the right direction and fastest way.
The launch event was attended by H.E. Engineer Nasser Ali Al-Mawlawi, President of the Public Works Authority Ashghal, accompanied by a number of Ashghals directors and managers, in addition to representatives of government entities including Mr. Rashid Nasser Al Khalifa, the HR Assistant Director at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Abdul Aziz Saad Al Majali, Manager of Development and Planning Department at the Institute of Administrative Development, Ms. Noora Hamad Al Thani, Head of the Planning and follow-up Section at at the Institute of Administrative Development, Mr. Nawwaf Al Fheida, HR Assistant Director at the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, Eng. Ahmed Jassim Jolo, Director of the Qatar Society of Engineers.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Saif Al Kaabi, Ashghals Human Resources Manager, said the new plan is part of the overall human resources development strategy adopted by Ashghal.
Al Kaabi said the IDP takes every individual employees personal development goals into account and is crafted to be consistent with the corporate business objectives, values and mission. "It is in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 that aims to develop all people to enable them to sustain a prosperous society", he added.
The IDP is designed to guide Qatari employees through a confidential and rigorous process of self-evaluation to develop and improve their skills. Guided by experts, each employees self-assessment will be used to rank a set of career paths.
After the employee has identified a long-term career goal, the IDP will help them set short-term goals directed toward enhancing skills important for their career development. (QNA)
