Art exhibition to highlight fighting cancer with faith, hope

Manama, Oct. 20 (BNA): A charity art exhibition that sheds light on the personal experience of a Bahraini woman in fighting cancer with unshakable faith and immovable hope will be held next week in Manama.
"Letters of Hope", a collection of unique Arabic calligraphy paintings, is the brainchild of Bahraini painter and photographer Dayana Al Shaikh who has been fighting cancer and campaigning for the fight against it through a powerful combination of hope and beauty.
The exhibition will be held at the Fashion Court in the Moda Mall and will run from Monday October 26 until Saturday October 31.
The opening ceremony will be at 6pm on Monday.
All the proceeds from the sold artworks will be donated to the Child's Wish Society.
The society is a Bahraini charity that grants wishes to children suffering from illnesses.
The society has organised several morale-boosting events for ill children.
Dayana has been using her skills in photography and painting to highlight the beauty of natural landscapes and sites and to share messages of resolute hope and unwavering fortitude.
More than 10,700 people follow her account on Instagram (dayanna_bh) where her depiction of natural landscape and her messages about the fight against cancer and the prayers for cancer fighters are often praised by her followers.
"Her pictures make you want to walk into the attractively serene environment she is posting, and after a few minutes of staring at it, you feel that this very peaceful environment is finding its way into your heart and mind, and you become so relaxed," one follower said. "Her messages are highly emotional and you find yourself joining her in her fervent prayers."
