Araji, British Security Official Discuss The Development Of Security Partnership Between The Two Countries

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji discussed with Christian Turner, deputy British national security advisor, the development of security partnership between the two countries. A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said that "Al-Araji received today Christian Turner, the deputy British national security adviser and his accompanying delegation, which included Ambassador Jon Wilks and a number of British officials, and discussed with them a number of security issues of common interest and ways of activating them for the benefit of the two peoples." Araji appreciated the efforts of the British government to support Iraq against terrorism. The two sides also discussed a number of joint files related to the visit of the Interior Minister to London, including combating terrorism, criminal evidence and other files that focused on the development of security partnership between the two countries. For his part, the deputy of British national security adviser praised efforts of the Iraqi government and its security forces to liberate the territories and successive victories on terrorism, stressing Britain's continuing support to Iraq./ End
