Arab News Agencies Officials Meet in Doha

Doha, November 20 (QNA) -Directors and chief editors of the Arab news agencies members of the Federation of Arab News Agencies FANA arrived in Doha on Sunday for the 39th session of FANA's general assembly. Taking part in the session are the news agencies of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Palestine, Morocco, Egypt, Mauritania, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, Jordan, Sudan and Yemen. The three-day meeting will discuss ways of advancing the Arab news agencies services and employment of sophisticated technology. A report on FANA's activity in 2011 will be discussed. The agencies directors will also elect FANA president and his deputies, members of the general secretariat and the secretary general. Participants are expected to accept the GCC as an observer in the meetings of FANA's general assembly . QNA will preside over the Federation's next two-year session. QNA's director Ahmed Saad Al Buainain will sign an agreement between FANA and the Organization of Asian New Agencies OANA on bilateral cooperation. (QNA)
