Another industrial zone to be created in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, April 14 / Trend D. Azizov / Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a decree on "Creation of Angren special industrial zone". The document was adopted to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign and domestic investments to establish modern high-tech facilities ensuring the production of competitive products with high added value, as well as integrated and efficient use of production and resource potential of the Tashkent region, to create new jobs and to increase the population's income," the presidential decree said. The main objectives and spheres of the special industrial zone "Angren" are to create favorable conditions to attract investments, especially direct, to establish effective activity of high-tech facilities producing competitive products with high added value at the domestic and global markets. Moreover, the special industrial zone is designed to ensure effective use of production and resource potential of the region, to create new facilities for more advanced processing of mineral resources, to develop industrial cooperation between enterprises, to promote accelerated development of the transport, engineering, communication and social infrastructure, especially to use the potential of "Angren" logistics center. The term of "Angren" special industrial zone's operation will be 30 years with the possibility of renewal. There will be a special tax regime in the territory. The status of the "Angren" participant is delivered upon the decisions of the administrative council of special industrial zone. The President has also instructed the ministries and departments to develop a program for accelerated development of the transport, manufacturing and engineering infrastructure in the special industrial zone and submit to the government within three months. "Angren" special industrial zone will be the second similar zone in Uzbekistan.
