Annual growth rate 4.5% in 1st quarter 2016

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Chief Executive of Economic Development Board (EDB), Khalid Al-Rumaihi, stated that the annual growth rate reached 4.5% in the first quarter of 2016, and the non-oil sector's contribution amounted to 2.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while the oil sector's contribution was 2.3%. This came during the comprehensive presentation given by EDB Chief Executive at today's meeting chaired by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. The meeting also focused on the progress made in the implementation of the EDB's strategy to develop a number of economic sectors, including financial services, information technology and telecommunications sectors.
