AmCham to host networking reception for US alumni

Manama, Jan 21 (BNA): The American Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (AmCham) will host a Networking Reception to gather U.S. Alumni in Bahrain and provide a platform for network building, exchange and business development. According to AmCham President, Qays H. Zu’bi, AmCham-Bahrain is hosting this event to "highlight U.S. Alumni and the important role education has played in the strong relationship, business connections and good will between Bahrain and the U.S. Many of the best and brightest Bahraini's and members of the expat community have attended U.S. schools and educational programs including American universities overseas. These Alumni represent one of the best exports the U.S. offers and hold prominent positions throughout the private sector, Bahrain government, and the diplomatic core. Through education we find understanding and develop goodwill and peace as well as the skills and training to lead government and private industry. " The U.S. Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck, will be the honored guest and will give a brief address to attendees at the reception. "Bringing together alumni who are established in successful careers with younger professional alumni, through the power of networking, can meet and find mutually beneficial opportunities. The number of U.S. Alumni in Bahrain is significant and AmCham would like to create a better networked connection among this influential and important community." "This will also be an opportunity to celebrate ones Alma Matur, reconnect to old friends and meet new ones. Education and affinity to ones Alma Matur is an excellent bridge for building goodwill and future trade and investment opportunities between the U.S. and Bahrain." 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the U.S. – Bahrain Free Trade Agreement. AmCham will be highlighting this significant treaty with a variety of events and initiatives throughout the year. AmCham is committed to expanding trade and commercial opportunities between the U.S. and Bahrain, advancing its members’ successes and the success of the Bahrain business community. Alumni are invited to wear their school colors or jersey. Registration is required. Go to www.amchambahrain.org or call 3511-4696 to register or for more information.
