Al-Zayani: HH the Emir's Presidency Ensures Better Chances of Successful Summit

Doha, March 23 (QNA) - Holding the Arab summit in Doha gives it a better chance of success and to make significant decisions thanks to Qatar's positive roles on all levels, especially the Arab one, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani said. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Qater News Agency (QNA) on Saturday, Al-Zayani pointed to Qatari efforts to boost Arab solidarity and push joint Arab work under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The summit "comes in sensitive and difficult Arab and regional circumstances and significant developments that require Arab leaders to reach an enlightened vision inspired by our civilization and our common history to reinforce Pan-Arab solidarity," said Al-Zayani as he highlighted the significnce of the summit, which takes place in Doha on Tuesday and Wednesday. He noted that the political, economic and security conditions in some Arab countries calls for urgent and constructive handling that takes into account the supreme interests of Arab peoples who aspire to preserve their security and stability and open hope for a better future. The GCC secretary general said he is hopeful the summit will take decisions that help pushing joint Arab work ahead so as to achieve the ambitions of Arab people and respond to the developments and changes that affect the security and stability of the Arab world and interests of its people.
