Al Shaqab Wins Top Honour at Arabian Horse Show

Doha, February 24 (QNA) - Al Shaqab Stud has won the accolade of the Leading Stud Farm of the Show during the 22nd Qatar International Arabian Horse Show at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC). Al Shaqab received 28 points to win the top honour here yesterday. United Arab Emirates' Ajman Stud with 24 points came second. Saudi Arabia s Khalidiah Stud was third with 11 points, the QREC said. There were several other champions declared on the day with Al Shaqab winning the Leading Qatar Sire honour. Al Naif Stud's Marghobat Al Naif was the Leading Qatar Horse of the show. In the Junior Champion Filly section, AJ Siyadah was the top contestant from Ajman Stud. Al Asyad was second followed by Ajmaniah OS. Qatar's Al Nasser Stud claimed the top place in Junior Champion Colt with Kanz Al Nasser. Peace From The Desert was second followed by Subhi. In the Class 10 B for Stallions (four to six years old), Ajman Stud s Spartacus TO beat the rest with 93.25 points. Wazeer Al Shaqab was far second with 89.50 points. In Class 11 for Stallions (seven to 10 years), HH Khalid Bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud-owned Baanderos (94.25 points) won the title.
