Al-Mahmoud Meets AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur

Doha, April 06 (QNA) - HE Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for the Council of Ministers Affairs, met here today AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur Mohamed Ibn Chambas. During the meeting, they discussed the positive developments in the peace process in Darfur, particularly in view of a peace agreement on the Basis of Doha Document for Peace in Darfur signed today in Doha between the government of Sudan and the Justice and Equality Movement Sudan. They also reviewed the agenda of the International Conference on Reconstruction and Development in Darfur, due to kick off tomorrow in Doha. The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. (QNA)
