Al Jaish Defeats Al Arabi 2-0, Wins Qatar Stars Cup

Doha , March 24 (QNA) - Al Jaish football team recorded Sunday its first ever local tournament after defeating Al Arabi 2-0 to win the Qatar Stars Cup in the final. Abdul Kader Elias scored a brace in the 33rd and 63rd minute to gift Al Jaish their first ever trophy. Al Jaish was the better team throughout the first half and managed to pull one goal ahead. Al Arabi played considerably better in the second half but only after the score was 2-0. They are the fourth champions of Qatar Stars Cup. Al Gharafa, Al Sadd and Al Wakra had won the title in the past three years. Al Arabi's loss meant they remain trophy free since 1997 when they won the league and cup double. (QNA)
