Al Attiyah Awarded Meed Life Achievement Award
Doha , February 18 (QNA) - Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, who is also President of COP 18 on Monday was presented with The Meed Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts and services to his country. The award was given to Al Attiyah as part of the Meed Qatar Projects 2013 conference held in Grand Hyatt.
Al Attiyah stressed that the contributions he made to the country in the last 35 years would not have been made possible if it were not for the encouragement of HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani who " lent me his full trust and support when I was at the helm of the energy and industry sector," Al Attiyah said.
Al Attiyah added that the vision and leadership of HH the Emir have guided his actions and allowed Qatar to be in the state it's in at the moment. He then thanked HH the Emir for "what he gave me and I wish him prolonging healthy life.", he said
Al Attiyah also thanked people who worked with him and supported him in every way during his years of service. As a result, Al Attiyah added, he considered winning the award a team effort. He added that he considered winning the award a recognition of the entire oil and gas sector in Qatar.
A number of state officials and business personalities in companies of the public and private sector attended the ceremony.
The Meed Qatar Projects 2013 conference is organized by Meed magazine, it was first launched in 2004. It is considered one of the main hubs for networking in the world of business and economic projects and investment opportunities in the State of Qatar. (QNA)
