Akylbek Zhaparov meets with deputy head of Parliamentary Friendship Group of Kyrgyzstan - Japan

As part of a working visit to Japan, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov met with Chairman of the General Council of the Liberal Democratic Party, member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Kyrgyz Republic - Japan Takashi Endo. Opening the meeting, Member of the Japanese Parliament Takashi Endo noted that the Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Kyrgyz Republic - Japan, of which he is a member, is making every effort for the progressive development of relations between Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic. “We are talking primarily about expanding trade and economic cooperation between our countries. My colleagues and I, as well as the head of our diplomatic mission in the Kyrgyz Republic, are ready to work on the proposals of the Kyrgyz side,” said Takashi Endo. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov thanked the Japanese side and personally Takashi Endo for the meeting and the opportunity to exchange views on the full range of issues of bilateral cooperation. “The Kyrgyz Republic considers Japan as a close and friendly partner with which it shares the common values ​​of democratic development, political and trade and economic cooperation. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. During this time, a good experience in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation has been accumulated, close ties of friendship have been established between the peoples of the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan,” he noted. Akylbek Zhaparov emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic highly appreciates the activities of the Friendship Groups and inter-parliamentary cooperation between the countries, which complements the efforts of the governments of the two countries across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. “Given the fact that Japan is one of the leading economies in the world, the Kyrgyz side is interested in attracting advanced technologies and innovations from Japan for the development of the national economy. We are currently working on the development and approval of a draft bilateral agreement on mutual support, promotion and protection of investments with Japan. This agreement will provide Japanese investors with favorable conditions for investing in the Kyrgyz Republic,” he stated. In turn, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Kyrgyz Republic - Japan Takashi Endo emphasized that Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic have significant potential in the trade and economic sphere. “We have a lot to work on, and we are ready for this work. This work will also be carried out through the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue, which has proven its effectiveness,” the parliamentarian concluded. During the meeting, Akylbek Zhaparov also said that the Kyrgyz Republic plans to take part in the international exhibition EXPO-2025, which will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025 in Osaka (Japan). At the end of the meeting, Akylbek Zhaparov invited Takashi Endo and members of the Friendship Group from the Japanese side to visit Kyrgyzstan.
