Advisory Council Strongly Condemns Duwaik and Tafish Arrest by Israeli Authorities

Doha, January 20 (QNA) - The Advisory (Shura) Council has strongly condemned the Israeli authorities’ capture of Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Aziz Duwaik and Palestinian Legislative Council Deputy Khalid Tafish. In a statement Friday, the Advisory (Shura) Council described the action as "shameless, immoral, and irresponsible" and contravenes to all international norms and conventions." The council demanded the immediate release of both officials. The statement added that the Council was shocked at the news of the arrest, particularly as both Duwaik and Tafish did not commit any crime. The statement said that as the council expresses its strong condemnation, and denunciation of the barbarian, shameless, immoral and irresponsible act it stresses the demand that the two officials must be released immediately.
