Advisory Council Speaker Leaves for Kuwait

Doha, March 04 (QNA) - The Advisory Council Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak Al-Kholeifi and his accompanying delegation left Doha Sunday morning for Kuwait to participate in the 9th session of the Executive Committee and the 18th Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union to be held during the period of March 4 to 6. The conference will address several items on its agenda, including election of the conference bureau, which means elections of a chairman, vice chairman and secretary general. The conference will also discuss the chairman's report on the union's activities and the activities of the executive committee since the previous conference, as well as review the secretary general's report on the state of affairs of the union. The conference also will tackle the unemployment issue in the Arab World and the role of parliamentarians in efforts to solve the problem. There would also be discussion of the union's plan for 2012, its regional and international activities, its 2011 final accounts, and its 2012 budget. HE Al Kholeifi and his accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at Doha International Airport by a number of the council officials. (QNA)
