About 4 mln tourists visited Kyrgyzstan since beginning of year

Bishkek, July 25, 2022. /Kabar/. 3 million 823 thousand 706 tourists from near and far abroad have visited Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Azamat Zhamankulov said at the press conference on the results of the first half of 2022. This figure is higher compared to the same period of 2021 (1.852 million 412) by 106.4%. The culture minister also cited other statistics on revenues in the tourism sector. Еhus, the share of tourism in GDP was 2.9%, or KGS 4 billion 332.4 million (2.9% of total GDP), which is 33.2% more than in the same period of 2021 (KGS 3 billion 252 million); - tourism services – KGS 49.5 million, which is 82.7% more than in the same period of 2021 (KGS 27.1 million) - investments – KGS 584.8 million, which is 10.5% more than in the same period of 2021 (KGS 529.3 million).
