About 1.5 thsd electric vehicles imported to Kyrgyzstan over four years

Bishkek, Nov. 9, 2022. /Kabar/. Over the past four years, about 1.5 thousand electric vehicles have been imported to Kyrgyzstan, Ermek Ashirov, head of the strategic planning department of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, toldtoday at a press conference at Kabar Agency. According to his data, 340 cars were imported in 2019, 80 in 2020, and about 250-300 units in 2021. This year, the number of admissions has increased significantly and has amounted to about 800 since the beginning of the year. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seyitov noted that by 2026 the number of electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan is planned to increase by 10%. He said that today 1 million 300 thousand cars are officially registered in Kyrgyzstan. In three years, they are planned to be replaced and replenished with 130 thousand cars on electric and hybrid engines.
