Abadi To Discuss With Rohani The Security Cooperation And The Two Countries' Efforts In Combating Terrorism

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Iraqi Prime Minister, Haidar al-Abadi, will discuss with President Hassan Rohani and senior officials in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Saturday, security cooperation and the two countries' efforts to combat terrorism, the official spokesman of Prime minister's office, Saad al-Hadithi said. Al-Hadithi said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "the visit of the Prime Minister and the official delegation accompanying him comes within the framework of seeking to develop relations between the two countries and to discuss areas of cooperation and coordination between them to ensure mutual interests and possibility of expanding relations between the two neighboring countries. "The Iraqi delegation will hold meetings with Iranian President Hassan Rowhani and senior Iranian officials. The talks will focus on developing economic relations between Iraq and Iran in the fields of mutual interest and cooperation in the sectors of investment, energy, trade, tourism and agriculture," he added. "The meeting will discuss the efforts of the two countries to combat terrorism and address the dangers it poses to the security of both countries and to enhance security cooperation between Iraq and Iran to foil terrorist plans and confront their attempts that aim their security as well as the security of the countries of the region and threaten international peace and security, as well as steps can be taken to invest in defeating terrorism in Iraq in order to remove its evil that affects the security of the peoples of the region and threatens its stability. " Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi arrived in Tehran today (Tuesday 20 June) in his second stop as part of his regional tour that started with Saudi Arabia and now in Iran and will end in Kuwait. The delegation included ministers of foreign affairs, interior affairs, planning, labor, agriculture, and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers and other officials. / End
