Abadi and Jahangiri To Head The Official Iraqi-Iranian Talks

BAGHDAD, Iraq (NINA) - Official talks between Iraqi and Iranian delegations began this afternoon in Baghdad. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi headed the Iraqi side and Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri headed the Iranian side. Abadi welcomed the Iranian delegation, according to the media office of the Prime Minister, pointing out that the meetings and discussions are in the interest of the two countries and the promotion of common relations. Abadi added "we have strong historical relations between the two countries and peoples and we are seeking to consolidate them in the economic, political, cultural, commercial and other fields. Abadi stressed that the areas of agreement are large, and the problems are small, and our discussions with the Iranian side have benefits to the two peoples and the two countries.
