89 Customs Inspectors Pass Police Training Institute Course
Doha, February 18 (QNA) - A new batch of 89 customs inspectors have joined the General Directorate of Customs, the Ministry of Economy and Trade, after passing a course conducted by the Police Training Institute (PTI), the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
PTI Assistant Director Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Mansouri and Customs Assistance Department Assistant Director Mohammed Jaber Al Nuaimi attended the ceremony held to honour the inspectors who passed the course held for customs inspectors from January 27 to February 14.
The Foundation Course boosts the technical and administrative capacities of the inspectors, Al Mansouri said and urged the participants to incorporate the theoretical and practical lessons at their respective workplaces.
Al Nuaimi appreciated the role of PTI in capacity-building of the cadres and completing the second course for new customs inspectors which reiterates the synergy between the General Administration of Customs and Ministry of Interior.
Both entities are co-ordinating in the process of boosting capacities of customs officers through field training exercises and familiarizing them with all aspects of security and criminal laws, he added.
Al Mansouri and Al Nuaimi awarded certificates to successful participants.
Customs inspector Naif Ali Thani Al-Hajiri topped the list of inspectors with distinction while Yousuf Khalifa Yousuf Mohammed Al-Nisf and Khalifa Khaled Saeed Mohammed Al-Shaabi came second and third place respectively, the MoI said. (QNA)
