76,566 MOTOR VEHICLES REGISTERED TO TRAFFIC IN TURKEY IN APRIL

ANKARA (A.A) - 23.06.2010 - 76,566 motor vehicles were registered to traffic in Turkey in April, the statistical board said on Wednesday.
Turkey's Statistical Board (TurkStat) released a motor vehicles statistics report for April 2010, and said 76,566 vehicles were registered to traffic in that month.
Accordingly, automobiles had the biggest share among vehicles registered to traffic in March with 39,205 vehicles (51.2%). 
The number of motor vehicles registered to traffic was up 35.8% percent month-on-month in March.
Istanbul ranked first among provinces, where the highest number of vehicles was registered with 36.8 percent. Ankara had 7.7 percent share, Izmir 5.8 percent, Antalya 4.3 percent, Bursa 3.5 percent, Adana 2.7 percent, Mersin 2.2 percent, Mugla 2 percent, Konya 1.9 percent and Kocaeli 1.8 percent. The other provinces had 31.3 percent share in vehicle distribution.
In the first three months of 2010, 259,050 vehicles were registered to traffic and 33,136 others were erased from traffic registry.
Around 14,542,614 vehicles were registered to traffic as of the end of April.
