4th CSR Conference Concludes on Wednesday
Doha, May 29 (QNA) - The 4th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference, which was held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Business and Trade Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on May 28-29 concluded today.
A Business and Trade Ministry statement said that the conference presented a number of recommendations, most notably the importance of the government role in establishing the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and in developing strategies capable of achieving the National Vision of Qatar 2030 in addition to recognizing of the role of the Ministry of Business and Trade in preparing the project of the national standards for CSR in the State of Qatar.
The recommendation of the 4th conference, as well, included emphasis on the previous conferences' recommendations on establishing a CSR award, disseminate the concepts of social responsibility among individuals and society and businesses through training courses and workshops as well as through the press, audio-visual media and means of social communication.
They included urging companies and businesses to voluntarily determine the dimensions of their social responsibility, depending on the specificity of the environment in which they operate.
The 4th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conference, started yesterday themed "Responsible Practices in the Business Community" with the participation of number of local, regional and international experts on CSR as well as organizations working in this field. (QNA)
