403.35 hectares of forest to be planted in Kyrgyzstan in spring

In order to increase the area, covered by forest, the Forest Service under the "Integrated Management of Forest Ecosystems of the Kyrgyz Republic" WB/GEF project plans to plant 1 thousand 749.5 ha in 13 pilot forestry farms. "To date, forestry have already planted seedlings of coniferous, walnut, deciduous, fruit, drought-resistant species on an area of 1 thousand 410.65 hectares. The rest of the work will be continued in spring,” the report said. Barbed wire fences and chain-link were installed on an area of 1 thousand 351.4 hectares in order to protect forest plantations from livestock grazing.
