317 Participants from 17 Countries Attended IORA Business Summit

Jakarta, IORA – Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Business Summit which was attended by 317 business leaders and entrepreneurs from 17 IORA member states has successfully produced a Joint Declaration.
"IORA Business Summit has produced a joint declaration to establish trade cooperation between the countries bordering the Indian Ocean," said chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Rosan P Roeslan at JCC, Jakarta, Tuesday (3/7).
According to him, the joint declaration will soon be adopted to an action plan as an input to the government related to the factors that hinder trade and investment. "This plan falls in line with RI President’s directive," he said.
The meeting has opened several trade and investment cooperation opportunities between businessmen from countries attending the summit.
"As business leaders, we are accountable to the nation's economy and infrastructure development," he said.
We will take this opportunity to establish trade cooperation for small scale sector since currently this sector contributes to around 90 percent of economy in IORA, Roslan said. (Tri Antoro)
