28th GCC Traffic Week Kicks Off

Doha, March 11 (QNA) - The activities of the 28th GCCTraffic Week , under the slogan (Let's Work Together for the Reduction of Traffic Accidents), kicked off here on Sunday in a ceremony at Doha Exhibition Center and will continue until March 16. The opening Ceremony of event was held under the patronage of HE Minister of State for Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and was attended by HE Director General of Public Security Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholeifi, Director of Traffic Department Brigadier Mohamed Saad Kharji and a number of dignitaries, heads of departments at the Ministry of Interior and the Heads and members of delegations of GCC countries participating in the event and a large gathering of citizens and residents. Following the opening ceremony, HE Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Kholeifi opened the Traffic Exhibition associated with the 28th GCC Traffic Week. The exhibition by a number companies and institutions participating in the event, features methods, procedures, and publications related to traffic safety. HE Major General Al Kholeifi and the participating GCC states delegations toured the various pavilions of the exhibition where they were briefed on the role played by these entities and institutions in community service, in addition to their role in raising awareness of security and traffic awareness in the Qatari society.
