25% of Iran's non-oil exports destined for Iraq: Official

Orumiyeh, Aug 1, IRNA – Iraq is the destination of one fourth of the Iranian non-oil exports, Hassan Danaeifar, an advisor to Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Wednesday.
Danaeifar, also the secretary of a committee tasked with promoting trade relations between Iran and Iraq, said that Iran's overall non-oil exports, excluding gas condensates and petrochemical products, stood at $25 billion last year.
He put Iran's exports to Iraq at $10 billion last year, $6.4 billion of which was non-oil exports.
Noting that Iran imported only $77 million of commodities from Iraq last year, Danaeifar said that the minor amount of Iranian imports from Iraq disturbs the stability of exchanges between the two countries.
He said the Iran has to pave the way for further imports from Iraq.
