16 government officials to study in Japan on scholarships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 28, Minister of Finance B.Javkhlan signed an exchange of notes and grant agreement on the JPY 248 million Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) 2021 with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki and Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency in Mongolia Tamura Eriko. As part of the project launched in Mongolia in 2001, a total of 368 Mongolian fellows have so far studied in finance, economics, law, mining, education, and healthcare at Japanese universities. In 2022, 16 people will be selected to study in master’s and doctoral programs in Japan. Japan, a reliable long-term development partner of Mongolia that has supported Mongolia in overcoming social and economic challenges since its transition to a market economy, is making valuable contributions to the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries with its support in human resource development and training of a skilled labor force. The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) (former Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)) aims to support human resource development of the Japanese grant aid recipient countries. JDS Project targets the highly capable young officials (mainly government) who are expected to engage in implementing social and economic development plans as a future leader.
