Gabon's president welcomes Turkish counterpart

LIBREVILLE (A.A) - 25.03.2011 - Gabon's President Ali Bongo Ondimba formally welcomed Turkish President Abdullah Gul in capital Libreville on Friday.
Following the formal welcoming ceremony, Gul and Bongo held a tete-a-tete meeting, and then co-chaired meetings between delegations of Turkey and Gabon.
Turkish State Minister Faruk Nafiz Ozak, National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul and Transportation Minister Mehmet Habib Soluk are accompanying Gul.
During meetings between delegations, a cooperation agreement between the governments of Turkey and Gabon, a framework agreement on intergovernmental military cooperation, a visa exemption on diplomatic passports, a memorandum of understanding on establishment of political consultation mechanism between foreign ministries of Turkey and Gabon, and a declaration of will between defense ministries of the two countries were signed.
The two presidents will hold a joint press conference. However, Turkish journalists left the Presidential Palace without waiting for the joint press conference as Gabonese officials put a quota on the number of Turkish journalists.
