FM: Burning The Holy Qur'an Is A Dangerous Phenomenon That Must Be Stopped

Baghdad / NINA / - Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stressed: "The burning of the Holy Qur'an is a dangerous phenomenon that must be stopped."

In a joint press statement with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, he said: "The meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on burning the Holy Qur'an is important."

He added, "We discussed with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation issues related to Islamophobia and racist movements against Muslims in countries of the world."

The Foreign Minister continued: "We put forward the idea of holding meetings and conferences to create a mechanism or group of mechanisms for dialogue with European countries on the limits of freedom of expression," noting: "The burning of the Holy Qur'an is against the concept of freedom of expression."

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, praised the position of the Iraqi government regarding the burning of the Holy Qur'an. / End
