Ferry carrying 1,516 passengers arrives in Turkey
MARMARIS (A.A) - 23.02.2011 - One of two ferries which were sent to Libya to bring Turkish nationals back to Turkey as unrest left hundreds of people dead in north African country, arrived in the port of Marmaris in western Turkey.
Orhangazi-1 ferry arrived in the port after a 20-hour journey from Libyan city of Benghazi.
There are 1,516 passengers including 30 foreigners and a ten-day-old baby boy on board the ferry.
Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim, Health Minister Recep Akdag and local authorities are at the airport to welcome the passengers.
