Exports of textile products to EU from southeast Turkey up in January

GAZIANTEP (A.A) - Exports of textile products from manufacturers in Turkey's southeast to European Union countries went up in January 2011 by a powerful 70 percent over the same period a year earlier, said a regional union of exporters of textiles.
The volume of textile exports to 23 EU countries totaled nearly 80 million U.S. dollars. The figure in the same period in 2010 was 47 million USD.
Italy topped the list of EU countries to buy the largest amount of textile products from Turkey's southeastern manufacturers with a volume of 26.6 million USD.
Germany, Britain and Poland followed Italy on the list with $7.2 million, $6.9 million and $6.8 million, respectively.
