Moderate Earthquake Hits Tanimbar Island

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Tanimbar Islands, Indonesia at 10.28 am Tuesday. The Meteorological Department in a statement said that the earthquake occurred 491 km southeast of Ambon, Indonesia. The earthquake at a depth of 80km, however, did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia, the statement said. -- BERNAMA
