Moderate 5.3 Quake Rocks Luzon, Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Luzon, Philippines, at 10.48 am Monday. The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said the quake had a depth of 85 km and occurred 78km north of Laoag City. The quake, however, did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia, the statement said. -- BERNAMA
