Cooperation in water management discussed with Hungary

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 2020-2024 Action Program of the Government of Mongolia incorporates a number of policies on water. One of the goals is to carry out the feasibility studies of Orkhon-Ongi and Kherlen-Toonot projects aimed at improving water supply through surface water collection as part of the Khukh Morit project and commence the project construction. On March 9, Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Urtnasan discussed this with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Mongolia Borbala Obrusanszky. Mongolia and Hungary have successfully implemented numerous environmental projects and programs including those on water management and seen concrete results. Minister N.Urtnasan agreed with the Hungarian Ambassador to cooperate on the Khukh Morit project. They also had discussions about expanding cooperation in tourism, learning from Hungary’s experience in community-based tourism, and implementing the Gol Mod II cultural-archaeological project.
