6.0 Quake Strikes Russian Far East Region

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) – An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter Scale struck the Komandorskiye Ostrova region of Russia at 10.10 am Thursday, according to the Meteorological Department. It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 573 km north-east of Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky, Russia, and 6,937 km north-east of Kudat, Sabah. The quake did not set off any tsunami, it added. -- BERNAMA
