World Energy Cities Partnership's AGM to be Held Tuesday
Doha, December 05 (QNA) - The annual general meeting (AGM) of the World Energy Cities Partnership, an organization of 18 international cities that have a core focus on energy, will begin here tomorrow, Tuesday. The Doha city's delegation to the meeting will be headed by director of the municipality Ahmed Mohamed Al Sayid.
During their meeting tomorrow, the participants will induct the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the newest members of the partnership. Rio de Janeiro will bring the total to 19 international cities after the city of Doha joined the WECP in October 2009 during the general meeting that was held in Calgary, Canada.
The participants attended Monday the opening of the World Petroleum Congress in Doha.
During their AGM, WECP members have the opportunity to learn and share knowledge with one another. The AGM is also an opportunity to make business and academic connections through WECP networking events that complement the meeting.
The Board of Directors will elect a new President and Vice President and the location of the 2012 AGM. (QNA)
