Turkmenistan's GDP increases in 1H2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 4 By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend: Turkmenistan's GDP increased by 5.9 percent for 1H2020, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency. This was stated during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Manufacture of various production increased by 4.4 percent, and the volume of retail trade from January through June 2020 increased by 13.8 percent, both compared to the same period last year. Also, the average monthly wage increased by 10.5 percent, also compared to the same period of last year. It was noted that privatization of state property, the transformation of enterprises and institutions with a state share of capital into joint-stock companies, and the organization of the securities market are the main areas of work. As it was reported earlier, Turkmenistan’s GDP growth from January through May was 6.2 percent, compared to the same period last year. For the mentioned period of 2020 production increased by 4.7 percent, while the retail trade - by 19.6 percent.
