Turkish-Ukrainian trade volume expected to reach $10 bln within next two or three years

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 22, 2011 - Turkish-Ukrainian Business Council head said on Tuesday they hoped trade volume would reach 10 billion U.S. dollars within next two or three years. Rusen Cetin, president of the council of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), delivered a speech at a meeting on Ukraine-Turkey investment bridge organized by Istanbul Chamber of Trade (ITO) and United Nations Development Programme. There are sound relations between Turkey and Ukraine, he said. Trade volume between the two countries had been 8.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2008 and the figure dropped to nearly 4 billion USD in 2009, he said. "We expect the volume will be 5 billion U.S. dollars at the end of 2011," he said. Cetin said that Turkish investments in Ukraine were about 169 million U.S. dollars.
