Turkish companies announce BIAS 2016 participation

Ankara, Oct.26 (BNA): Turkish industrial companies will have a marked presence at the 2016 edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS-2016).
The three-day exhibition will open on the 21st of January 2015 at Sakhir Airbase under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
The Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI), an establishment of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, has signed the form, making its participation in BIAS 2016 official.
The move was announced following a meeting with representatives of leading specialized Turkish Aero-spatial and defence industrial companies.
The meeting came within the keenness of the leaders of both countries to bolster bilateral relations bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and Turkey in all fields.
It is also in line with directives of His Majesty’s Personal Representative, Head of BIAS High Organising Company His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to attract more international companies and consolidate Bahrain’s standing on the world map of mega events.
The BIAS Group, an affiliate of the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications organized the event in cooperation with Bahrain Embassy in Ankara.
Turkish Otokar, Roketsan, Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu (MKEK or Makina) and HAVELSAN for Aviation electronics, simulators, software and integrated systems have also confirmed their participation.
The Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM) is expected to announce the participation of other companies in the Turkish pavilion, which will cover two-hundred square metres (200 sqm).
Bahrain Ambassador to Ankara Dr. Ibrahim Al-Abdalla received the representatives of the companies and thanked them for accepting the invitation to attend the meeting which contributes to bolstering bilateral relations.
Assigned by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, BIAS Group Chairman Youssef Mahmoud briefed the Turkish representatives on the exhibition strides.
