Turkish Airlines target turnover of 7.68 billion USD in 2012

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Turkey's national air carrier Turkish Airlines, or THY, announced Tuesday that they targeted a turnover of 14.6 billion Turkish liras (approx. 7.68 billion USD) in 2012. In a statement issued Tuesday, the THY has said that they planned to continue to grow in 2012. We expect to serve 38.2 million passengers, including 21 million in international flights, during 2012 and expect our planes to consume a total of 2,589 tonnes of fuel oil in 2012. We expect our turnover to be 14.6 billion TL next year, the THY said. Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, headquartered in Istanbul. It operates scheduled services to 146 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.  It carried 30 million passengers in the first 11 months of 2011.
