Turkey's energy minister says significant capital to flow in energy sector
ISTANBUL (A.A) - December 1, 2011 - Turkey's energy and natural resources minister said on Thursday that significant capital would flow in the energy sector in coming years.
Taner Yildiz said that Turkey was a center of attraction for international investors.
"I would like to say that significant capital will flow in our sector in coming days, which is a pleasing development for energy structuring in Turkey," Yildiz said during a meeting in Istanbul.
Yildiz said Turkey would open domestic coal reserves to use of private sector, and thus Turkey would raise the use of domestic coal in electricity production.
Moreover, Yildiz said Turkey was fulfilling its international obligations regarding climate change, and nuclear energy would take its place in Turkey's energy sector from now on.
