Turkey rises to 27th place among most attractive investment destinations
ISTANBUL (A.A) - July 26, 2011 - Turkey rose to the 27th place among the most attractive destinations for the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2010, a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
The International Investors' Association of Turkey (YASED) made public the "2011 World Investment Report" of the UNCTAD in Istanbul on Tuesday.
YASED Secretary General Ozlem Ozyigit said that according to the report, Turkey, which had held the 30th place in the most attractive destinations for FDI in 2009, rose to 27th place in 2010 with FDI inflow of 9.1 billion U.S. dollars to the country.
The report said that the United States, China, Hong Kong, Belgium and Brazil were the top five FDI destinations in 2010. The United States attracted 228.3 billion US dollar of FDI and China received 105.7 billion U.S. dollars of FDI, the report said.
