TRA wins CommsMEA Award

Manama, Nov. 16 (BNA): CommsMEA has announced the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) as best regulator of year in the 10th edition of the annual CommsMEA Awards on Wednesday, November 11. This award, won by TRA Bahrain for the 5th time, comes in acknowledgement of the regulators accomplishments in cultivating an environment by which the telecommunications sector across Bahrain has been able to flourish. The regulator’s 5th award for best regulator comes as a hard earned win amongst prominent rivals in the region such as the TRAs of the UAE and Qatar’s Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology. TRA’s General Director Mohamed Bubashait commented by saying: "Winning Regulator of the Year for the 5th time a great honor, and proof of the unified vision and strategy exerted by our Kingdom’s leadership. This award only invigorates our steadfast commitment to the Kingdom and its goals in ICT." TRA’s Human Resources Manager Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa said that this achievement reflects the TRA’s ongoing efforts in developing the ICT sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain in line with the directives of the leadership. He noted that this further ensures the continuity of the high quality of services offered and fosters sustainable competition within the market.
