Thai PM: Government will boost national economy after floods

BANGKOK, January 14 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Saturday that her government will quickly rehabilitate flood-hit areas and spur national economic growth, mainly through mega investment projects. Speaking to the public during her weekly address, "the Yingluck government meets people", the prime minister acknowledged that her administration will announce post-flood economic stimulus measures soon, covering the mega projects and water management plans to prevent and solve repeated floods. Regarding retail prices of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) and liquefied petroleum gas of LPG, Premier Yingluck insisted that the NGV and LPG prices need to be gradually increased as planned to be in line with the market mechanism. Meanwhile, Energy Minister Pichai Naripthaphan also insisted on first raising the prices of NGV and LPG the Thai transport sector on Jan 16 for the long-term benefits of the country. (TNA)
