Thai government uses postal services to send cheap goods to retailers
BANGKOK, May 19 (TNA) - The Thai government, through the Ministry of Commerce, will use postal services to supply cheap products to retailers across the country, starting from next week.
Vatchari Vimooktayon, Director-General of the Commerce Ministry's Department of Internal Trade, confirmed Saturday that cheap consumer goods will be delivered to shops through postal services starting from next week and advertisements will be made through media late this month to inform local consumers where they can buy the products at specially-offered prices, under the government's ‘Took Jai’ outlets program.
To date, the senior official said, about 'Took Jai' 7,000 shops have been established nationwide; while the Thai government plans to set up 10,000 of such the outlets totally by allowing local groceries to join the scheme, aimed at assisting consumers who are facing higher living costs. (TNA)
