Tender on gas distribution network privatisation postponed in Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.7/ Trend A.Taghiyeva / The tender for sale of a 20-per cent share in Turkey's gas distribution network Baskent Dogal Gaz (Ankara), in which the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) also participates, was postponed from April to May 17, 2012, Turkish Resmi Gazete reported on Tuesday. Earlier, the tender was postponed from January to April 2012. The company told Trend earlier that along with SOCAR, foreign and local companies also participate in the tender. According to the report, any company that wins the tender should pay 50 per cent of its value up front, while the remaining 50 per cent can be paid within two years after signing the contract. Earlier Baskent Doğal Gaz announced a tender to privatise an 80 per cent share of the network. The tender was postponed several times and according to the last data, is expected in March. Earlier SOCAR's joint petrochemical company got a licence for a gross sale in Turkey's domestic market. The licence was issued for 30 years by the group regulating Turkey's energy market. Earlier SOCAR reached an agreement with the Turkish side on the purchase and further sale of gas in Turkey to the volume of 1.2 billion cubic metres per year. Most gas will be delivered to Petkim's petrochemical complex owned partially by SOCAR and the remaining volume will be sold to consumers in Turkey's domestic market. Do you have any feedback?
