TASDEER Assists Qatari Companies to Participate in Plast Expo 2013

Doha, June 19 (QNA) - Qatar Development Banks export development agency, TASDEER, is pressing ahead with promoting Qatari non-oil export companies by paving the way for 12 local exporters to showcase their unique products and services to over 2,800 delegates and 150 exhibitors at North Africa's largest and most impressive plastic products fair, Morocco Plast Expo 2013. This year's edition of Plast Expo, which kick-started today, is held at the International Fair Grounds of Casablanca stretching till the 22 June. With an impressive presence at the event, Qatar is hosting potential trade visitors and international importers at its exclusive pavilion spanning 144 square meters of space. Participating companies include: Al Khaleej Plastics, Al Bayader Pack Qatar, Haya Plastics, Asima Plastics, Doha Plastics, Gulf Plastic Factory, Hepworth PME Qatar, Qatar German Medical Devices, Qatar polymer Industrial Company, Orient Plastic Containers Factory, Uniplast and Universal Wrapping Manufacturing. Also this year, Maroc Export is running a hosted-buyers' program into effect. As a result, high-profile trade visitors from Algeria, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Tunisia will attend to discuss business and will therefore lead to significant business prospects for each of these Qatari companies. Chief Executive Officer of QDB Mansour Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud said: "We have doubled our efforts this year to see our products, services, advisory and support extended to Qatar's private sector players and especially non-oil exporters owing to their role in casting the light on the countrys exporting potential, world-class quality standards and global best practices. Plast Expo, amongst other initiatives, we have facilitated this year are integral to the development path of local exporting companies on the accounts of the business value and international exposure such platforms offer to all participants." Executive Director of TASDEER Hassan Khalifa Al Mansoori said: "We've had tremendous success on the first day of Plast Expo with hundreds of business visitors flocking to our pavilion to meet with our Qatari exporters and discuss synergies and opportunities for the future. Weve had a very busy year so far and efforts are still in the works to gain further ground for Qatari exporters to thrive on." Plast expo is a bi-annual event positioned as the Euro-Mediterranean gateway to Africa. Earlier in 2013, TASDEER championed a market study governing Morocco and pinpointing lucrative expansion opportunities for Qatars exporters. Morocco boasts one of the biggest plastic products industries and is poised for further grow in the near future. The customs duty charged by Morocco for the products manufactured by Qatari companies is Zero per cent owing to the GAFTA agreement. Additionally, TASDEER recently launched the online platform of its Qatar's Exporters' Directory which is considered to be the countrys first fully comprehensive export directory service. The bilingual portal is accessible through QDB's website and strongly underpins the banks steadfast commitment to provide a world-class service to Qatar's exporting industry. The portal allows global importers and international industry agencies to search through prospect names and products of Qatari non-oil companies helping users to browse company profiles, product details and images in addition to key contact people.
