SOCAR: Azerbaijan to drastically increase gas production volumes

Azerbaijan, Baku, September 20 /Trend E.Ismaylov/ There are real opportunities to bring the volume of gas production in Azerbaijan to 40 billion cubic meters, excluding gas injected into reservoirs, head of SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Rovnag Abdullayev told in his article published in Azerbaijan newspaper on Friday. According to the article, in particular, excluding gas injected into reservoirs, its production in the country may reach 20 billion cubic meters in 2015. "The potential of prospective structures and the work carried out within the framework of existing projects allow us to make optimistic forecasts," head of SOCAR stressed. Along with such fields as Shah Deniz, Umid, Absheron, the development of promising structures Zafar-Mashal, Babak, Nakhchivan and others will create conditions for a sharp increase in gas production in the country, Abdullayev said.
