Singapore's Changi Airport Wins World Travel Awards Accolade

Doha, January 12 (QNA) - Singapore's Changi Airport won the World's Leading Airport accolade at the World Travel Awards 2012 at the Grand Final ceremony held at the Katara Cultural Village here late Wednesday night. South Korea's Korean Air won award for the 'World Most Innovative Airline' while Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways won three awards - World's Leading Airline, Leading Airline First Class and Leading Airline to the Middle East. Local favourite Qatar Airways won two awards - World's Leading Airline, Business Class and leading Airline Lounge, Business Class - to carry on its award-winning run of 2011 into the New Year. Abu Dhabi-based Royal Jet Group won the award for the 'World's Leading Private Jet Charter'. In the port category, Dubai won the honour of the 'World's Leading Cruise Port while Royal Caribbean International won three awards - the 'World's Leading Cruise Line, Cruise Brand and Large ship Cruise Line. Hospitality, travel and tours fraternity's top decision-makers and executives attended the awards ceremony, billed as the Oscars of this industry. (QNA)
