Singaporean investors still have confidence in Thailand
BANGKOK, November 8 (TNA) - Despite the flood crisis in Thailand, Singaporean investors say they still have confidence in the country, while Singapore’s Chamber of Commerce here has called for new incentives for investors affected by floods.
Singapore-Thai Chamber of Commerce Chairman Alan Lim said after a meeting with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong on Monday, that a number of Singaporean investors had been affected by floods in Thailand.
They were in hotel, food, service and production sectors, he said.
However, Lim said none of them wanted to withdraw from Thailand because they remained confident in the country.
Lim acknowledged that the Thai government was helping investors but Singaporean investors still needed additional assistance from the government such as reduction in corporate income tax and business privileges to further relieve their burdens. (TNA)
